Hi Jim which side of town are you travelling from? From where I live a few kms from the Fitzherbert bridge about 20mins to Woodville through the Gorge.

I will be coming down from New Plymouth. What is quickest way to get to gorge, should I be going through Palmy or turn off before then?

I am trying to work out if I can get there on the Saturday morning (without getting up too early) without having to go part way on Friday after work.

Take the first road to the left after Turakina .This takes you to the Main road SH 1.Take a right then a left towards Halcomb & Fielding then Bunnythorpe then Ashurst.You save a bit of time this way and there is not as much traffic.

Hi guys, keen to make this trip with you. Got to get into this adventure riding given I've now got a more d/s capable bike. I've registered via the calender. Given a couple of you are coming from Wgtn / Lwr Hutt area, how's about we ride together. Where to meet?. I assume riding up through the Wairarapa (collect 1 at Masterton).

So meet at Upper Hutt Caltex? Time?

I've booked accomodation now (2 bunk cabin with Andy Mac -$40 or $20 ea).

Given Bart has set the start at 9am sharp from Woodville - those of us intending to meet at Caltex Rimutuka need to be fuelled and ready to leave by 7am sharp.

sounds good Joe - that's the Kurapuni bus stop eh - I think for you we'll make it the Caltex as we enter Masterton from the South near the Solway .... have a great week ...... may see you Saturday - I'm planning on ending up at Putara by nightfall and may do some cruisy gravel roads on the Beemer - greater difficulty and I'll be sure to bring the DR cos you know I'm a whimp

I shouldn't tell you this, but I always allow a half hour fudge factor. I'm usually the one running late. If we get away by 9.30, we should be fine.

HI Aslan, yip i am hopeing ill have my tank on by this sat.
so im going for a light ride down the coast road.
to get a feel for extra weight.

Bummer guys. Just found out the Whariti road will be closed next weekend. There is a hill climb on. I guess we won't be finishing up Whariti at the finish. We might have to do North Range Road instead, (unless you guys want to join in the hill climb???)
