Maybe they just like watching your behind!
Since riding and doing more filtering I've become much more aware of others bikes coming up behind me doing that. More often than not I am happy to sit in my lane and watch the experienced splitters show me how it's done! but I am very conscious that when I do lane split of anyone coming up behind me. I think everyone just has to be aware of each other and not get too cross with us less experienced riders.
Sure, it can be a pita for someone who likes to lane split at speed to find a newbie in their way, but remember we all have a right to be on the road. And, most importantly, if you want us to become more proficient at it we need to practice. If that means you allowing for that in your busy ride then I thank you for taking me into your consideration.![]()
Biker to Biker/Biker to Car/Car to biker...whatever, it all works out in the end.
I for one always make room for a bike when im in the car, I will even move to the left if a bike is making a tight oncoming pass.
Then there are those times when one can believe what one is seeing.
A few dozen cruiser dickheads heading north this morning between the Tunnels and Puhoi (split packs). All, without exception, were passing cars over double yellows and a right turning slip lane. Now the slip lane thing? I do it whenever I feel I need to, but for 10-12 bikes to be encroaching into the south bound lane forcing cars to the left? that I dont see as anything but blatant fuckwitism, no doubt they were all heading to Waitangi for a free feed.

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)
