    WTB, Dirt bike

Mrs is looking for a new bike after selling her cr80, She wants a crf230 but are a bit pricey on trademe, She might be ok on a 125 2t or something simillar but she never really used the powerband much. Anyone know of something suitable? I heard yz125s and rm125s are quite smooth power

Apparantly xr200s are too ugly for her , Bike has to look cool lol

all depends on how much you got to spend? my choice, Kawasaki KDX200 would be better, team orange, would say exc200 or go yellow a DRZ250.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

if she was on a CR80 then the DRZ would be too small won't it?

How tall is she and what does she want in a new bike? Eg, what did she dislike about the CR80 that made her want a new bike?

I've just bought the KDX200, it's great, of course depending on height! It's heavy, but so reliable that you don't fall off that much - yeah right! In the past 2 years since I started riding I've had a 140, a 250 and an 85. The 200 is awesome. It's got great power, got me up a few knarly bits at Desert Storm, oh other than the kick start! I rode the 230 and it was heavy, slightly heavier than the 200 and not heaps of power! I'm not an experienced rider, but that's my 2 cents worth!

I would recomend the Yz 125, and put a flywheel wieght on it. these little bikes are great, you can ride them out of the power and they will still pull you along the single track nicely, then as she gets used to it the powers really there to embarress bigger bikes. Super light with impecable handling and mega brakes. Best to try b4 you buy though.

Shes not short can sit on my cr250 ok. The cr80 was an animal to keep in the powerband they dont have power valves to smooth out the power a little. It was the big wheel model but was still too small.

    In that case......

Time for you to upgrade! Get yourself something shinier and give her your bike.... Drop the forks slightly and back the spring right off so it's a tad lower, run a hotter plug and retard the timing slightly to make it a bit less aggressive and she's sussed!

midget200 hit the nail on the head, don't go the MX way and then soft cock it down so she can ride it, the KDX is ready to go of the shop floor, for someone like her who just wants to trail ride, if she has that competive streak, then by all means go the MX bike way.

if you can stretch the budget this one looks good.
