On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!
'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '
Yeah the housing is a waterproof polycarbonate enclosure, for audible sound to record it needs a sensitive high gain mic, because the clasp that clamps the enclosure shut is broke more sound can enter and the mic overloads. I'll tape some sticky over the mic next time.
Gearing on the old girl is too tall, I'll try a front sprocket with one less tooth. Maybe then I'll keep up with yah on the sprints!
not smaller front ...
bigger rear
its a lot cheaper to do the front... around $20.... one tooth less at the front is equal to approx three teeth more at rear. if you already have a 13 on the front id go bigger at the rear as the tighter curve of the smaller diameter 12 tooth sprocket can wear your chain quicker. well thats what ive read somewhere anyway..
So what does 1 going 1 tooth up on the front equate to?
will have the opposite effect.... as if you were going down 3 at the back... higher top end speed...but less torque, so takes a bit longer to get there...
maybe not less torqe but the gears will be slightly longer, giving the feeling of less torque imo.
yeh like typical Enduro mod for the Cr 250 was to go from a 13 front to a 14 The motor delivered enough torque to handle this and it mediated a lot of the sting out of the bike. Ie it made it more enduro baised. Although a good rider like B000M (who has raced a lot) can handle it people like me and Cheese preferred the less savage power hit of the 14 front for forest riding, and climbing muddy inclines etc.
I think you get the drift now?
Btw they say it is better to do the 3 teeth change on the rear as going smaller in the front (if this is the preference) wears the chain more. Depends on what you want to do with your wheel base length as well of coarse. Handling is a thing some forget when they stuff around with gearing? You might decide to add a link to your chain to keep the rear in the same place if you make the rear sprocket bigger???
The above might be worth considering for you Green machine have a search or talk to the Kawasaki boys and see if it something they do to mild out the 450 (Not sure if they do this sorta thing on 4 strokes). Scott ( Mr Motocycles) should be able to tell you as I have no clue but its worth $20 bucks for a new front sprocket to give it a go??

Yeah Reckless, that's the train of thought i'm following, been talking to Scotty today about some options,i'm gonna try a 14t front sprocket along with a G2 Throttle Cam System,i've had the bike re-mapped,tho it can be tweaked a bit more apparently....i'll lose too much money if i downgrade so i'm just gonna try a few things to make it a bit more user friendly
put a flywheel weight on it...
worked really well on a mates yzf450, the bike was a bit spastic before hand, now its very controlable and a accidental grab at the throttle doesnt mean a backflip
we may just go where no ones been
If it was Orange i wouldn't be having trouble with too much power...........that's a bunch of KTM Riders, hahaha
Looked into that(FWW),they don't do them for the 09 Kxf,gota put in a steel clutch basket......i'll just try 1 thing at a time,i'll get there in the end
oh ok. that sucks.
With my mates yzf, you have to buy a whole new GYTR heavy flywheel as there isnt enough room in the case to put a weight on top, id say thats the same deal with your kxf.
Scott, ill bring you a cd with the helicopter rescue on it tomorrow, if your around the shop. I was over by the fence so the quality isnt amazing, but you can clearly see whats happening, even have you asking for the video on camera....lol
