    Luggage

Looking at something small to attach to the Speed Triple, Triumph do a nice little tail bag but at near $400 that ain't happening, The Ventura rack is too big and the rails that stay attached look poo.

Seen a couple nifty looking tank bags but not interested in having anything in between my ample sized belly and the tank.

Is it possible to attach a tank bag to the seat like the Triumph tail bag?, if so any recommendations of something suitable?

Ah ha, Seems quite a few companies make dedicated tail bags, Now all I need is one that has a strap that runs under the seat.

Ventura do quite a nice one. About $100.00 from most bike shops. I got mine from ANZA and for another $10.00 you can get the expandable version, lot's of room. Real easy to attach, just a couple of straps that run under the seat. Simple!
It's only Rock and Roll but I like it

Totally agree about those Ventura racks, everyone seems to have them here but they look totally naff.....in my opinion!!!

    I got one of these:

    http://www.cycletreads.co.nz/product..._tailpack.aspx

Fits nicely on my 749 and doesn't move around (yep its got a strap that goes under the seat) , it's expandable so you can have it small or large and takes quite a lot of gear, even comes with a waterproof cover and you can carry it like a rucksack! They also do other shapes and sizes, just have a hunt around on the website!

    Very cool.

Got myself an expandable Oxford tail bag from the local Yamahahahahaha dealer, $100

For some reason when we went through all the options the other day we missed the tail-bags, hence me starting this thread not even knowing they were a common item.

Pretty sure my plan of not attaching them in the first place is more efficient and practical.

    Plus

$100 for perfect solution VS $500 for system that doesn't suit and would require extra effort.

    hmmm.....Thats' a hard one.

Nah, Trying to keep in classy. Maybe if I had a Honda......but no.

I wouldn't ever lug around a bag that size, everything I own could fit in a bag of those dimensions .All I want to pack is 2 pairs of socks and 2 pairs of undies, If their is room for a couple spare pies then fantastic.

holy crap! put a car battery in that pack and instant wheelie. I'm sure it is just a looks thing, but that looks very precarious to me!

Rode 2200 + K's like that, not a problem, the bike didn't moan once.
We were 2up so it balanced out.
Never felt in danger at any time.

Have a look at my profile, it doesn't look as bad.

Ventura System works well though. Found the grab rail was handy on my Trophy too, but that's not a pretty boy Stripple.
