TKRJ pistons as sold by me

Greetings. I thought the bucket forum would be the best place to put this, since I sell a fair amount of stuff to bucket racers (ta). If its moved, well and good.

Due to my impressive marketing skills, few of you are actually aware that I even sell TKRJ pistons. Those of you that are aware are probably only know due to the efforts of Dangerous, (thanks man).

It has come to my attention that even fewer people are aware of the situation that exists now, hence this thread thingy.

In a nutshell, for various reasons that I won't go into, I am no longer importing TKRJ pistons, or any other pistons for that matter. I am, in fact, winding the whole business down and will eventually close it. The website www.motoequip.co.nz will soon close, and the email you have gotten used to using will no longer exist, (please PM me for the new one).

    BUT, all is not lost.....yet.

I still have a fair amount of stock, and will continue selling it for till its gone. I am holding my pricing steady for the time being- I will be selling it at a price that reflects the prices I paid for it, back when the Kiwi $ was high and the yen was low. With the current state of things, if I was to import this stuff now, the retail price would be MUCH higher, therefore I am not planning on having a 'closing down sale'. That said, racers, I will still look after you

I will be attempting to list everything I have on Trademe and on Bren-chch's site www.motorbikeparts.co.nz. No promises though, its going to be quite a big job!

Please note that I won't be holding stock for anyone, if you want it, buy it. If you want it in two weeks time and someone else comes along with the cash, its sold to them. Sorry if thats harsh but I need to get rid of this stuff. I also will not seperate kits for anyone- I did this a couple of times and as a result still have a couple of useless kits lying around. If the bike in question is a twin, I will not sell just one piston or rod kit- that said, I have a couple of lonely pistons/rods who's mate I sold thinking I would order more.

So there you go. These kits are made in Japan and are good quality. They have been race tested and proven, and if I'm not mistaken, they are sustantially cheaper than anything else thats out there.

PDF's of stock and pricing as at 17/04/09 attached.

oh yeah. I also have one last 1 piece suit which I'm selling off at $450 (thats less than it cost me direct from the factory), would suit a small to medium guy.

    Cheers
    TonyB

    That's a bugger.

I've had a good run with the TKRJ piston in the GP100, thrashed it for a season and a half and it still looks like new.

The TKRJ piston I put in the AX1R some 3 years ago was pitted badly by a poor tuning effort. It's saviour was the alloy coming off shorted the spark plug.

Anyway. The piston is still in use. And in reasonable condition. Bloody good stuff IMHO.

same here, I ran a TKRJ piston of Tony's in a highly stressed MB100 for two seasons, removed it and it shows no signs of wear, I then replaced it with another TonyB suplyed TKJR and its still going strong.
I also run Tony's TKJR pistons in a 250LC and 350 LC along with I 'think' a rod kit in the 350.
I believe the ring kits are made by the same suplyer as all the Jap companys get thers from.

Highly rated parts, parts however that I will only buy from Tony and no other NZ suplyer.

PS: Tony, will Toren grow into ya remaining 0ne piece?
    cheers DD

    Thanks guys.

Yes people have commented that for some models the TKRJ rings are indentical to the OEM supplied ones, right down to the markings on the rings. Yamaha RD350LC and RZ350 are two that come to mind. When I quizzed TKRJ, they said that even in Japan there are only a very small number of ring manufacturers.

Hi again. I've made a few sales over the weekend, so the stock lists in the original post have been updated.

So how's the sale going tony? Thanks for the good deals, another happy customer here. The two I put in my CB last year have withstood the thrashing I gave them too!
