Windshield advice please

Just had ride from CHCH to AKLD - great weather, awesome trip but need to ask advise as to windshields really make a great deal of difference to wind buffering. No windshield on my Honda VT750C and I felt like an airbrake holding the bike back. Has anyone used one on this bike model and did it work OK or make no difference for whatever reason. Can anyone recommend an after market make / model.
Definitely take your own tiedowns when crossing on the ferry. Our of about 15 bikers, I was the only one that had tiedowns, the rest of the guys were hasseling for crappy tiedown scraps provided by the ferry.

Hi. I had a 750 shadow with an aftermarket screen. A Givi. The buffeting moved from me to the handle bars. I removed it one summer for about a month because of this affect but refitted it as it was more comfortable without the wind to the body. (and it looked good too).

Yea i second your comment, i carry my own straps, takes me no more then 7 mins to strap down my bike,,, i watched a couple other guys fumble with ropes and old tie downs...

had to help one chap as i didnt want his bike to fall on to mine...........but happy to lend a hand..
