I don't think it would of made any differance what bike, he's the man to beat not the bike.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Jeepers your are a hard man oldguy!!

Ktm design a completly new Chassis, Rationalise the over power problem by making a 350, go away from their tradition with a new linkage.
Basically Build a completly new bike with a lighter frame, more traction (usable horsepower), better suspension etc etc etc.
Finally they hire a top 6 rider And they can still get no credit for their effort??

Well we are just going to have to hope Carolli gets injured out of a round or two and see if your right!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Yea but that's what most bike manufacturers do every few years, Yamaha for example with there backwards 450 is brand new everything, how long before the other brands do a complete overhaul?
And yet not one of those brands dominate any other so much to say that its the bike not the rider.
Its not motox, but take David Knight, won on a KTM, won on the Kawasaki. that guy would ride a wheel barrow faster than most people could ride a new anything
As for the new KTM, its too early to say if its as awesome as the hype, but the bike in MX1 that Cairoli rides will be nothing like the one that you buy from a shop, no bike in MX1 is.

Guess we will just have to wait till it gets used in the US series, as that was why it was made.....

From The little I have read and assumed they decided the 450 was over powered and had to be heavy framed to take the power.
The 350 was powerful enough delivering enough tractable power for them to design a chassis that was much lighter. I think was the theory??
Bearing in mind the Husaburg they had been fooling around with had gone from 450 to the new 390 so they had a lot of pro development feedback. I'd guess?
I imagine they decided they could make a faster lighter bike, that could beat the 450's.
After owning the little 2hundy I have I agree with their theory. I can't ride the 200 to its max (although my skills are shocking) and from a study or two they have done ( I keep posting one here done on 07) they may have the decided a good rider is actually faster on a smaller bike than on a biiger one??
Bloody lot of guessing in the above but its good sitting back and seeing if they are correct.
I suppose we should be looking at his team mate or lesser skilled riders to see if the bike does make a difference.

And how long will it be before you can buy a 450 kit for it just as with all other sizes they 250 are a perfect example of it.

An article on Racerxonline says Coppins didn't ride because of hand tendonitis.

It's only tendonitis. I'm sure a little rehab will have it fixed in a jiffy.
