Leaving Christchurch Wednesday. Crossing the straight Friday. Few things to do on the way. Via Blenheim then Nelson. Senic route as much as time allows.

Any of the Nelsonites know the current situation with getting to the ferry via Mangatapu Friday morning? Don't want to cause friction where it is not wanted.

far north riders heading south,
id be quite keen to meet up in Palmerston or close to it and travel the coast south with you.
any ideas of time and places i could join in..

Wire ropes across the track at the caretakers at the Nelson end and at the summit.
No problem for bikes if you're careful lifting them.

About 1hr max to Pelorus via the Maungatapu or 35 min or so via the Wangamoas and Rai.
