That does sound like a pretty good idea, maybe it can be organised to join the saturday ride somewhere around noonish at a particular location? MXNut would this be possible?

Having done last year I know there's little chance of getting far enough from Wellingotn to meet them at noon. I'd have to meet at Taumaranui, presuming the overnight is there again.

I'd ride someone elses GS through with worn Conti Escapes.

42nd would be fine on shit tyres. As for Fishers....you'd have to be a little bit crazy, but wouldn't be too bad if it hadn't rained for a few....ummm.....weeks.

Shall I come and demonstrate on ANZAC weekend. Who's got a GS to lend me.

I've done 42nd on fairly road based tyres in the dry and it wasn't a huge issue. but it would only take a touch of moisture to make some parts super slippery without knobs. Someone who hasn't done those tracks and/or much adventure riding is always going to ask and if they don't know what they are in for I'm not going to recommend anything less.

Who was that young fella on the 650 Dakar last time we went through? he wasn't having much fun picking his bike up all the time on 80/20 tyres.

Busy trying to get my shit together for that ride at the moment and running out of time.

Shouldnt leave things till the last minute i guess.

Yes ride will overnight at the Taumarunui camp again and any one who wants to join in at any stage along the way or meet up on Saturday night for a few lies and quiet ones is most welcome.

If the route is same as last year it must be well over 200km on saturday. It was most of the day before we saw a gas station and so many bikes filled up we must have almost drunk the place dry.

Yeh we do, mainlanders are always welcome. Their natural pig wrestling talents are always useful when there's KLR's around ;-)

As I remember it, the issue last year wasn't with pigs, but more with Steers, eh Andy.....
