Yep sure have, it was on the Route to ride last year but we ran out of daylight.

Wont be makin that mistake again, id say it would rate right up there as one of the best ( read nastiest ) public roads around the north island anyway !

    That too can be arranged.

    Red face Unsociable I know!!!!

Did the 42nd traverse yesterday on my own.-----Thought ,hell,if I do it on these tyres in the wet,Im in trouble.(Nearly bald TKC80 ,& a Dunlop knobbly, badly cupped ,now,on the front. That I,d bought second hand for $5/the pair,on Trademe) Don,t want to replace em ,till the spring.
A perfect day, weather wise, took a bit longer than I thought, both getting there (180km up the "Lost World" hiway) & the track itself, nearly 3 hours, with "yakking" to hunters,& a little bit of reconicense on foot.(Bloody steep downhill, thought,if it ain,t the track,& I,ve gotta get back up,I mighten,t make it.)mind you,I overshot the Koopors road---little signage-- ,& finnished up in an area thats being logged,a bit further up.But a guy getting firewood set me right ,down some cool forestry roads.
Won,t spoil it ,by describing the track itself, but it is an adventure, would do it again tomorrow,if I had time.
One thing that made me laugh, near the start,a ute came round the corner ,through the overhanging scrub,pulling------a caravan------a folddown one,admittadly,-----but looked ,so out of place.
Comming home was slow----blown high beam (again) & cold ,hit the shed @ 8 pm.
You guys are going to have --fun---fun -----fun----- Anzac weekend.
    ALANE

    & then-----Fishers track-------untouched----

If the weather holds, we might do fishers in reverse ( uphill ) then the 42nd.
We can decide on the day.

Lady at the Taumaranui Holiday Park wanted to know if we wanted assistance with any after match events (spit roast or similar). I told her given the nos expected & the length of the day, didn't really expect too much 'after the event' energy levels. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong....

We also discussed potential to leave gear at the Holiday Park while we did Fishers & 42nd. No issues with that.

Might take you up on that spare bed if I can, MarkS was apparently organising somewhere else, but sounds like the main group is staying at the camp grounds, so I might as well.
