Don't throw your money away mate, unless a new disc costs you, landed in NZ, less that $120, it's a waste.

You will need new pads ($35) if the disc is new or not, and quite simply if the disc is with-in the wear limits (which are stamped on the disc), then he simply cannot fail you!

turboduck: thanks for that info re pricing comparison local vs offshore. Fair enough. I am also in the market for discs and taking into account personal choice and circumstance I will order them from Bits4bikes. Even though it may cost me more the delivery will be quicker (I hope) and if there is any issue I will have someone "local" to sort it out for me. At the end of the day most of the money I am spending will go offshore just as it would if I had dealt direct with a UK or US supplier however all things considered I am quite happy to pay a bit extra for the "middle men" in NZ to do the sourcing and supply for me.
    pretentious moi?

Bump. I want to order some bits in from the US because I don't want to wait for the local guys to bring it in direct from Japan. Searched and found this thread. So have given it a bump as bound to be useful to someone else as well, and maybe others have some more links (or comments) they can post.

    Heres an answer:
Rear Disc - Bits 4 Bikes $177.11 (member price) + delivery
Rear Disc - Wemoto (ok its a UK site, not US) $123.00 delivered.

To be fair, they are not the exact same Disc manufacturer but they are the cheapest offering from them.

If it was only $20-30 difference i wouldnt bother, but saving 50 squid means I can get the pads to go with em for the price of the B4B disc.

They only get about the same, maybe less margin. It`s just NZ companys can`t compete due to GST (which is going up).And economy`s of scale, mean better prices in large economies.$20 of the Bitz 4 Bikes price, goes to the Govt, for there wise use. There price may be fixed also over different exchange rates. UK/NZ exchange rate is near record highs at the moment,so good buying :-)
