I know in Aussie, it was legal for a male to urinate on the offside rear buggy wheel. This was tested in court within the last 20 years by a bloke who got done and he argued that now a car has replaced the buggy it was therefore legal. An interesting sidenote, this is for MALES only, on the other hand a pregnant female was allowed to urinate anywhere in public. However these laws may have since been recinded.
It was also illegal to be on the street in Queensland whilst wearing boot polish on your face and wearing slippers. The reasoning was that during the depression years that was the standard dress for a burglar.

Yes, I bet in reality the law books are a real mess.....
If anything is messy it would only be Council Bylaws.

When you gotta go, you gotta go. You can take every reasonable precaution to be as private and as descrete as possible however some people have nothing better to do with their sad lives then sit around waiting to see what they can report.

It would be good to know if there is anything official about this.

I had heard the one about pregnant women too. Again, I'd be wanting to know for sure before I tried it out.

I would think you are correct, but being a woman I can't pee against anything but what I'm squatting over anyway, so have no way to test the law in this regard.
It's a proven fact, women can pee further than men!

Well, if the "no hands" rule is applied that is!

Can anyone provide a direct link to the section in the legislation where these seemingly ridiculous laws are stated?

This applied to a horse and cart (left rear wheel facing away from the footpath) where the owner was plying for hire, ie cab driver. It hadn't been repealed in the mid 80's but probably has since. In the same era it was illegal for a taxi driver to not have a bale of hay in the rear. I hope this has also been repealed but knowing pollies.............................

All laws enacted in the UK were lawful in NZ until the "Statute of Westminister' was adopted by NZ in 1947.

    Anyone know for sure?

Sheesh, where do people GET that shit???

Another urban myth, about as accurate as the following:.

The cop can't arrest you unless he has his hat on............

Nah, that one is true. I read it on here. You must have missed that lesson at Porirua.

No. It is an arrestable offence.
