The police have a job to do.
What amazes me Robert, is that you, and many other people in the motorcycle industry have names of business and other logos all over your trailers etc, and yet Squids still do dumb stuff right in front of you.....

I guess they are so used to doing dumb stuff, it doesn't even register......
I has it a guess, you have a very different opinion of them if you recognise the bike after something like that has happened.....
I for one would feel embarased if I had to come and ask for your services if I did something dumb that you saw while on the road.... I guess not every rider has that shame....

I was one of those bikes riding back...on a yammy.....and although i did ride the outside in static traffic..which may be what some of your are talking about...i tried not to pull in front of cars.......a lot of cars moved to the left to let us get through which was cool and i generally waved to those...even i was amazed at some of the bikes and not so much the riding position but the speed which they went past!!...I had to constantly keep a look behind to ensure i was aware of the bikes coming up.....but all in all i thought everyone was pretty good..

Sure you're on the right website?
FYI the 100kph speed limit and yellow lines are designed for wide, slow accelerating cars, vans, suv's etc. being operated by drivers with low levels of brain stimulation i.e. lowest common denominator. If more `bikers' had ridden bikes to Paeroa maybe the roads out wouldn't have been so clogged yesterday arvo?

Was there two fatalities at Paeroa ?

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/waikato-times...has-heavy-toll

The incident which led to the first death in the 19-year history of the Battle of the Streets came during a warm-up ride at about 8.30am, when the veteran rider came off his bike at the end of the back straight. He was airlifted to hospital by the Westpac Waikato Air Ambulance.

    maybe Im reading it wrong

But the Fatality involving the sidecars was late afternoon, not 8.30 am
Ive run out of fucks to give

You are reading right Quasi, thats what is says, hopefully the Waikato Times has got it wrong?

It says the 58 year old died in Waikato Hospital, when Alan Satherley went to Middlemore.

    Yet they also say

A 58-year-old Auckland man, whose name has not been released, died at Waikato Hospital overnight after suffering pelvic and chest injuries when his sidecar rolled at high speed during Paeroa's annual Battle of the Streets motorcycle race meet yesterday.
    I think Stuff is confused.

I agree Robert , they should at least have the decency to pass you slow enough so that you can slip a business card to them on their way past aye...... :-)

No, plenty of business is coming my way anyway. And to reply to SVR Im on the road with a trailer/ workshop that has been supplying specialist services to racing motorcyclists. Having been a motorcyclist Im always mindful of giving them plenty of room even though many have a habit of riding in your blind spot

When you have brain dead idiots passing you when approaching blind corners you just take a deep breath....if something is coming the other way it can take all of you out.

But I guess you cant put brains where they arent supposed to be.

Happens every year, someone has to bleat about the carry-on of ''some'' bikers on the way back from Paeroa.
Inconsiderate riding happens every day, not just on the 3rd Sunday of every Feb'.
I found that alot cars pulled to the left, thats the advantage of being on a bike, leep-frogging your way to front of a queue of bloody cars.

I only saw one cop I think on the way home, he was sitting just at the begining of the new passing lane at Maungatawhiri.
Alot of dead traffic on the Motorway heading into Auckland, which if a Harley can get through, so can I.
To be fair, there were a couple of idiots, but on the whole, just another day in the world of motorcycles.

A VERY VALID BLEAT, also Grandma doing 80ks an hour right on the centreline and oblivious to all behind her.

I understand Robert. Last year, some wanker was on his back wheel through a 30K area in loose metal in the opposite lane while everyone (myself included) was taking in easy. There will always be that exceptional cockhead that (time after time) does dumb thinking he is impressing those who can see him.
