Hi All - My CR125 seems to be especially boggy down low. it runs fine in the powerband, but there seems to be quite a "dead spot" between when i twist the throttle and when i get some power
any tips?
im thinking it needs to be re-jetted but i dont want to spend a weekend mucking round to figure out what is best (nor do i have the experience to figure it probably!)
we had a 95 CR125, someone had messed with the jetting big time and was running off, i just found from honda the base settings and jet sizes, put it all back and it was pretty good, i ended up 1/4 turn richer to allow for the procircuit pipe and dropped the needle 1 slot for trail riding. i hope the attachment comes out as it is a great 2 stroke jet Gide.

If the bike has always been like this, then it might have a too larger main jet in the carburettor, try going down a size, or find out what the factoury setting are from your local honda dealer.

i think you mean lift the needle or a bigger jet. i would find the base factory settings and work from there, it will save a whole heap of time, if it is the air screw you have wound out 5 times it really means you cant get enough air in for the gas, maybe a smaller jet or drop the needle, set back to 1 1/2 turns out ant play from there.

No no no!! Lifting the needle or bigger jets will make it worse if the Idle/pilot jet is already to rich. The air screw having to go 5 turns out means the pilot jet/circuit is to rich! Not the needle, although changing the pilot may mean a needle clip change later on???
Just watch out when leaning a pilot jet as it is the one jet that delivers fuel right through the throttle range and leaning this jet may have some effect on your mid and possibly main?
I usually steer away from trying to jet a bikes over the internet unless someone is going to make a cock up and leaning your needle and/or main to compensate for a rich Idle jet is a bit dangerous.
Read this attached! And tune it in the order its written. I also agree completely with finding out whats factory and start from there!!
