    Getting back on the bike...

Well, long time no post. Haven't visited the ol' KiwiBiker site in quite a while now, but thought I would check in.

I'm starting to feel the urge to get back on a bike after my little crash episode in Aug 2007 (was it that long ago? Yes, yes it was!). In hindsight, I wish I hadn't made an insurance claim on my bike, because if I'd kept it and got it fixed up, I know I'd have been back on it before now.

My question - does anyone in Wellers know if there is anywhere I can hire (beg/borrow) a 250 cc and gear so I can see if I can remember how to ride???

Any advice or suggestions about getting back on the ol' horse?

    Cheers!

I'm sure you'll remember how to rider, it's just the finer points you'll have to brush up on.

Go to any local dealer. and say you want a test ride on any particular 250 there. shouldnt be any issues.

if there is. they'd be more than happy to rent one out.

many people rent them out just to sit restricteds etc....

ask the guys at the dealer for pointers on it

I went to my friendly local dealer, whom I'd dealt with regularly when I was riding. My hiatus was fairly long (not a euphemism you pervs). The dealer should have a good selection of styles, prices and loaner gear for you. If you have your full, and as p.dath says above, when it all comes flooding back to you, then you can take a sem fiddy for a test flight.
    Keep on chooglin'

Make sure you face the front.
Remove the disc lock before riding away.

    Hey Hitch - wassup???

Yes, definitely feeling the pull of 2 wheels again. I was 2 weeks off sitting my full, had the test booked and everything! Might have to go for a test ride as per the suggestions above - glad to be back on Kiwi BIker, you guys rock!
