    Ruapuna Friday afternoons

    Hey guys

Can anyone advise me how to go about using the track, I read some where a while ago that $50 gets you on the track on a Friday?

What prep would be needed to my Busa (taped lights- removed mirrors- something about sump bung?)

Any advice or point in the right direction would be appreciated

Tuesdays and Fridays are 'open' days, although it would pay to ring the track to see if there are any events on at the weekends, especially for fridays. I believe the cost for a full day has gone up to $100, not sure of half day rate. If you're a member of the Canterbury Car Club you get a significant discount. Otherwise, just turn up at the track, pay your money, sign the waiver and you're fully sorted. You'll need a 'spotter', either someone watching trackside or a friend out on the track. Their job is to spot if you go down, because as the days are open to the general public for testing there are no marshals, other than someone waving the flag to indicate end of session (only if cars and bikes are out there, I've been there with no one else but my riding buddies and you go out for as long as you like whenever you like).

You don't have to do any prep to he bike, no need to tape up glass or lock wiring the sump bung. You are responsible for damage to the track or picking up debris. On organised track hire days the organisation is responsible, hence the extra rules.

Here is a Link to the Canterbury Car Club.
