    1997 Superbikes WC

On my way home around 11pm last night listening to the RadioSport Quiz in the car, some chap rings up with a quiz question...

Which two Kiwis competed in the 1997 WSB Championship?

The two hosts of the quiz night named Aaron Slight and Simon Crafar to which our caller said was right...

Now,to my knowledge only Slight was there but then get this...the host of the show said "hang on hang on,I'm pretty sure there's a 3rd one"

Then the questioner goes on to say "no,there were only two,I've been following it since I was a kid" but the radio announcer was adament there were 3,he even asked folks to txt in their answers, the only answers txtd through were Andrew Stroud & Robert Holden.

To top it off,and I don't know if your a poster or member on here, but a dude rang up thinking they were talking about the 1987 WSB round in NZ,he raced in that race apparently and reckoned Slight retired in 1992???

It was the most confusing conversation I've ever heard but I'm pretty sure both callers and both hosts had it all wrong.

Maybe some out there may correct me but I'm sure Aaron Slight was the only Kiwi competing in WSB in 1997.

    Am I right?

Yes I know Kiwis competed in rounds, but none other than Aaron Slight had a full season.

Just wished I hadda been able to ring Radio Sport while I was driving.

IIRC, Slight didn't retire for ages after 1992.

I think his brain surgery was in 2000 and he did the end of the season in 2000.
