I went, I thought it was fantastic!! Well marked out track, well organised, a great day, and seriously impressive views. Would have been awful in the wet though (or am I just a woos?!). I hope the farmers let us back again (this year/next)

Yeah I was there and had a good ride.

Thought it could have been a bit more technical..... Flat out is fun but only for so long ya know? I left at about 1.30 as after spending the best part of 3 laps sitting tapped out in top gear (stupid MX gearing) I wasn't too interested in another one.

Really enjoyed the bush section and wished there was more of it, an awesome flow going through there at pace and nothing that presented enough challenge to create log jam's with slower riders.

Obviously there's always going to be a fine line between what's too open and what's too technical but personally I would have prefered to zig zag through some of the gulley's that were around and have a few more corners then race flat tack from gate to gate.

I dunno if it was a possibilty but A loops are always good.

As crfchick said, probably lucky it was dry as even the morning dew was enough to create some serious sliding through the grass corners.
Organisation was great, the track was well marked and everything seemed to go off without a hitch. Congrats on that!

Oh and the lunch was great, is it just me or is the quality of trail ride lunchs in general getting better this year? Coz Tangimoana last week was wicked too!

I agree RITTR, there could have been a few more technical bits included, I love the bush stuff but I think it made a nice change to have a cruisey ride rather than (me personally) stressing out with all the bogs, river crossings and steep rutted out downhills (as much as I love that stuff sometimes!)

Yeah good ride even though my bike was being a bitch and wasn't sure if i'd make it back to the car.

Totally agree on the hills/bush sections were far more enjoyable than the slippery (first loop anyway) grassy open areas.

Some pics at http://kaseus.net/gallery/hmcc-tokom...ge-ride-100228, unfortunatley not alot of the bush sections due to having to get back to wgtn early and the riding through there was too good to stop.

Loved the sound of the BSA! There were a couple of nice old skool bikes there but hard enough on a KTM so more power to them, lol.

It was good having a food caravan even though i didn't use it, maybe if it was advertised in the flyers that it's going to be there i won't bring any backup food.

Yes it is a fine line with adding more technical bits. If we make it too hard then we have issues with the less skilled riders. We were hoping to put in some A sections in the bush area - there used to be tracks down there but it's very overgrown and would have taken a lot of work to clear out, and some of the tracks are just one way in/one way out.
Now that we have the track in place, I'm guessing that next time spend time we can spend time looking for some more technical sections.

    Thanks
