    AMPS ditches KTM?

Not sure if this is a repost but have just noticed that AMPS are ditching KTM leaving just the Harley and Triumph brands (Buell also but not for long). Anyone know if they are going to replace with another brand or are they going to concentrate on the 'Premium' classic brands? So in the 4 years I have been in Auckland they have ditched Aprillia, Guzzi and Honda. I reckon they should put in a cafe which would work well with the Harley/Triumph brands.

My understanding is that it was purly a business decision. Their are very little margins on KTM,s, and they only allow half the time time it takes to fix anything if under warrenty, therefore suckuing what little margin they made on the sale of the bike in the first place. At the end of the day, they are in business to make a profit, and KTM was not adding to that.

Auckland needs another KTM dealer. Particularly in the north.

But the one out East is great... less than 10km from home or work They're handy with the custom jobs too.

AMPS simply dropped KTM because H-D had a bit of a word with them, they make waaaay more from the H-D bikes, gear, etc, and they probably didn't put in enough effort on KTM. I know, because I just about stripped a KTM with my eyes in front of them, and was ignored for half an hour.

I saw an AMPS TV ad the other day pushing their Triumph brand.

They were obviously trying to reaffirm their new focus.

IMO - A specialist KTM dealer would be a good thing to see in central Auckland.

Its sad eh - I went to AMPS a few weeks back to look for a motard and was told to go fishing on my gay honda. Triple X however did more than fill my motard hunger
