Ta for all the encouragement. I did suggest getting a whole heap of those fold out stools, just hop on and leave it behind. Although the countryside littered with them might be a bad look. The top box is what causes most of the problem, but she won't go anywhere without luggage.

My wife and I go away once a year on my V Strom.
Last year it was to Gisborne and this year to Ohope, Tauranga, and Whangamata.

I think the bike actually goes better with 2 up, and you have to lean a long way to scrape your boots on a V Strom.
