    Just for your Old Rider

At first I thought this was funny..... Then I realized the awful truth of it.
Be sure to read all the way to the end!

    Tax his land,
    Tax his bed,
    Tax the table
    At which he's fed.

    Tax his work,
    Tax his pay,
    He works for peanuts
    Anyway!

    Tax his cow,
    Tax his goat,
    Tax his pants,
    Tax his coat.

    Tax his tobacco,
    Tax his drink,
    Tax him if he
    Tries to think..

    Tax his car,
    Tax his gas,
    Find other ways
    To tax his ass.

    Tax all he has
    Then let him know
    That you won't be done
    Till he has no dough.

    When he screams and hollers;
    Then tax him some more,
    Tax him till
    He's good and sore.

    Then tax his coffin,
    Tax his grave,
    Tax the sod in
    Which he's laid.

    When he's gone,
    Do not relax,
    It?s time to apply
    The inheritance tax.

    Fishing License Tax
    Food License Tax
Gasoline Tax (too much per litre)
    Gross Receipts Tax
    Health Tax
    Hunting License Tax
    Hydro Tax
    Inheritance Tax
    Interest Tax
    Liquor Tax
    Luxury Taxes
    Marriage License Tax
    Medicare Tax
    Mortgage Tax
    Personal Income Tax
    Property Tax

    STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, & our nations were two of the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.
What in "Hell" happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'
Yes "poli" means MANY & "tics" are BLOOD SUCKING INSECTS !
I hope this goes around Australia & New Zealand at least 100 times!!!!! YOU can help it get there!!!

    What in "Hell" happened?
    Skyryder
    True!

What happened? We let the media do our thinking for us!

These add on taxes on our living conditions and freedoms are the only constant that I have seen in countless successive governments since I can remember!

The first was the Labour government of the 1940's. (Peter Fraser after Joseph Savage died))

Whatever flavour of government you like to name, all of them have contributed to increased taxation!

All that MMP has done is increase "their" job security at the expense of ours!

Spot the difference between the last government and this one, the net result will be the same, higher taxes, less freedom, the rest will be purely cosmetic!

And they decide among themselves as to who will "govern" us as well! Democracy New Zealand style! Yeah right!

The new Taxes always get added on but the old ones never get removed.

Many of those taxes didn't exist 100 years ago OR today. That list looks like it is from another country.

Of course 100 years ago if you had an accident and couldn't afford to pay for it you could die. If you lost your job you and your family would be out on the street. Fish specifies hadn't been made extinct through over fishing. Terrorism of the scale we have was unheard of. Schooling was not available for the poor. There was not a relatively high grade roading network (compared to 100 years ago). You probably have 1 or 2 cars now - as opposed to being lucky to own a horse. You typically only work 40 hours a day in a safe work environment.

So yeah, it costs a lot more but the quality of life is greatly improved.

And what are they for - paying for the lazy assed labour voters that believe that everything needs to be handed to them.

If more of them got off their collective asses and didnt survive on handouts - the g'ment wouldnt have to take all the taxes to support the lower groups.

a win-win. Sadly it wont happen because the bludgers will always believe they are entitled to being looked after

The problem is that the apathy of the electorate demands that politicians behave in a way that the bait they offer the prey is to the victim's liking and acceptance!

    Very similar to fishing really!

We, the electorate, are our own worst enemy, the politicians respond to the terms we set, the media exploit the situation and push their own agenda's.

I of course believe the media is all left wing biased, Skyryder on the other hand believes that the media are all right wing biased, I guess the truth lays somewhere in between!

Meanwhile we are steadily taxed to death and our freedoms are being stripped away from us piece by precious piece!

It's a case of "A" fighting with "B" for the benefit of "C"!

    Who exactly is "C"?

So many men, so many opinions but there is someone out there pulling our strings for their own benefit, if only we could "C" clearly!

Old saying, if it moves tax it, when you can't tax it any more, kill it!

Doesn't matter what flavour the government is, the outcome is always the same!

It was unheard of mainly because communications weren't as instant - it was still there, just in a different form....and the Governments of the day were just as bad as now!

    Quite true, of course.
To (yet again) quote Thomas Jefferson...

    - I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them but to inform their discretion -
ie, if people don't inform themselves about what is going on and rely on the nebulous "non information" provided by the MSM, they will gradually be subsumed, regardless of what they think is going on, because...

-Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.-

If you don't inform yourself and sit back in apathy assuming everything will be all right because the Gummint knows best, you'll eventually be fucked over, good and proper!

But then, since when has it been any different - the price of liberty is eternal vigilance!
“- He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.”

All valid points, but evolution has provided improvement also, its when taxation and tyranny amalgamate that’s a concern, it is of late easier to use taxation to solve a problem than any other method. The ACC hikes, which appal you Mr Dath are an example of a tyranny of sorts directed at a section of society of all sorts (bikers) you know the details i have read your post. We need to pay our way, but alas we pay their way too, and there's the rub. The list posted by skyryder will have some nice additions in the next few years

Excuse me Mr Key have you got your mining licence ????
