    Motocross Racing

So my bikes back up and running now - running quite well too btw, and I was thinking it would be good to find some motocross racing to do. I've probably been riding about 1 1/2 years now and really enjoy it, but I want to be a lot better (my long term goal is to compete in red bull romaniacs). I try to get out 2 - 3 times a week for a ride but as I live in town (palmerston north) the only real place that I know that is nearby and easy for me to access is the river at ashurst. There is a good amount of riding down there, but as I'm either riding by myself or riding with mates of similar ability, I think I'm starting to plateau in terms of my learning. While spending more time on the bike is certainally improving things, its hard to know what I should/shouldnt be doing without seeing what other, better riders are doing.

Now long term i'm probably more interested in enduro riding, i'd really like to develop my skills in terms of speed, cornering and jumps, as I find I'm already (imho) pretty good with technical stuff (hill climbs, river sections etc).

So I thought some club level mx would be a good way to improve those aspects, and gauge my ablilities against other riders, but i'm not really sure where to start?

Any ideas would be much appreciated !

imo possibly not the best advice its late and im a bit pissed but i'll give it anyhow mx tracks are good for practiceing technique as you can repeat the same corners over and over. But f you want to do serious enduros and cc races your best bet is to just start doing a few and then probably do some rider training with someone who is super fast the gap between the clubman type riders and somone like mead or birchy is really quite scary/impressive

still think jump are lots of fun probably why I've been going to the bmx track a bit

Theres loads of racing/riding in your area.

    Here's a link for you : http://www.silver-bullet.co.nz/event.php?id=6745

Also look at the Gold Coast club(track is just north of foxton) for racing mx or for practice this place would be really good : http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/padesign/Taikorea.html
