    World's Fastest Indian

Sir Anthony Hopkins will star in "The World's Fastest Indian", the true-life story of Burt Munro, a New Zealander wo spent several decades constructing a 1920 Indian Motorcycle, then traveled to Utah and set a new land-speed record back in the 70's. Roger Donaldson, director of "The Recruit" is using his own writing and is directing the project.
source: NCOM (National Coalition of Motorcyclists), Dec 2004

Look for it, mates, New Zealand is famous among bikers here for what Kiwis have done with the Indian, and the only country to ever put an Indian on a post stamp.
In any case, that might be worth to find out when and where they'll be shooting, and in the meantime I will also try to find out more since the other place where they will shoot for sure is Utah, a good days ride from Colorado where I live.

Wouldn't want to miss it for the world, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Burt Munro on a 1920 Indian racer, and part of your history as well, pretty cool!

Hope he can do a convincing kiwi accent...

Get really annoyed with movies that supposedly portray New Zealanders and screw up the accent, mannerisms etc.

Still, I like Sir Anthony, he's a good actor and I look forward to seeing the movie.

well if they're filming already in South Beach, GO THERE! I tell you people, this is really big stuff for New Zealand.
Hey wayfarer, how goes it? aren't you gonna check it out? You gotta!
If anyone does go on the set, it would be very much appreciated if you let me know when they'll be in Utah to finish the set, please?
And by the way, are there any bikers here that own Indians?

Roflmao, he wouldn't even know how to install it let alone compress a file with it (anyway win xp has built in zip'ing function).

Yep saw the 2 indians dragging at ruapuna, the munroe rep got beaten by about 20m every time, couldnt get the power down good enough, was starting to reel the other one in though.

Here is a link to info about it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0412080/
Doesn't say when its due out, sometime before the end of the year.

Just a random guess here but is Wayfarer me? Have two problems with going to where ever it is they are filming. One being I have no idea where it is and how to get there and two is not having my own set of wheels to go anywhere on at the moment. I'll just wait for it to hit theaters.

My Grandad used to ride an Indian way back in the day.

    /random useless information

Looks like it may be a good movie. Certainly can't be worse than Biker Boys and Torque.

It was filmed around Invercargill and is well gone.
They finished up a couple of months ago.
My understanding was that the actual running replicas used for action shots had Ducati motors in them.
