It's looking like you need all the 'footage' you can get at the moment.

Finnally got roung to the long awaited disection of my power core 4 muffler...turns out it had a hole burnt right through the packing? Other than the hole, the packing seemed to be in good nick...some new packing will hopefully shutt the thing up a bit

The dark area is where the hole was burnt

you must have better earplugs or helmet than me.... its way loud when ya riding espically at anything over 4k rmp. My wings that I had on my 990 were knowhere near as noisy as this muffler.

Remember marks is deaf. He thinks his bike has a "tasteful" exhaust note.

    Dear Diary

Well I'm still hobbling on all fours but have managed to get some quality time in the shed with the 690. Ive gone from plaster to a fibreglass cast, now a moon boot, but the footware I most crave are me o'll tech 10's

The FMF is repacked and sounding much more civilized, I have fitted my custom LED number plate light (but now have to drop the number plate for it to work), theres a new foam air filter on the way and I managed to scoop a wolfman duffle bag of trade me. Still on the list of things to do are change the rear tire EO7 must be hear by now!! and when I'm riding again (6weeks) I'd like to get Patterson O'conners suspension guru to do a custom set up on the springs. I have to say though I am getting a little stir crazy not being able to ride

Have you done the 2 & 3rd gear restrictor mod?

Did mine yesterday, its feels nicer, power seems more linear through the gears. 2 & 3rd always felt a little slack to me. It was only a 10 minute job.

While I was doing the mod I noticed one of my rear tank bolts was missing!!!
Wonder when that happened, being I have been doing a few trail rides lately, that could have been bad news if the other side had broken.

I removed the pins from the other end of the connector, seemed easier to me.
You can just unplug the connectors and run the bike, but it does not detect neutral so you can't start without clutch, and if you have the safety stand switch engine will cut out if the stand is down.
But its easy enough to work around that to give it a test to decide if you need the mod or not.
