It seemed that trying to get all three (HP, Torque and Fuel) seemed to be difficult to program on the dyno. F/A was what I really wanted.

Yeah, I think you're right - going to 13 is theoretically the spot...which means that I probably can remove the tape from the drilled holes in the airbox, however I think there is something around supplying a slightly richer fuel air mixture under load and acceleration...I'm pleased its not lean. We are only talking about fractions, and considering tolerances on equipment and all those variables. I aint losing sleep.

I read this on a tuners blog awhile back

"ACCELERATION: When the throttle is opened for acceleration, thus increasing the manifold pressure, additional fuel must be supplied to prevent misfiring, backfiring, or even complete stopping of the engine. Injection of this acceleration fueling must take place simultaneously with the opening of the throttle. The optimum amount of acceleration fueling is that which will result In the best power air/fuel ratio in the cylinders.

In general this varies with the engine speed and with the throttle position at the start of acceleration, as well as fuel volatility, mixture temperature, and rate of throttle opening. Since partial or slow opening of the throttle requires less than the full acceleration fueling, the amount of extra fuel is usually made roughly proportional to the throttle opening and the angle through which the throttle moves. Mixture strength under these conditions may be as rich as 12.7:1 on warm engines and perhaps as rich as 12.1:1 on cold engines. When an engine reaches normal operating temperature we should not see acceleration fueling richer than 12.7:1. "

$90 bucks is the official rate.

Got email today from KTM Techincal Service Manager in Austrailia in responce to the lean/rich query running on std map with aftermarket exhaust; heres his comments:

In my reply I did let him know the "nuke" issue was a good reason for changing the stocker!
Agree...whether the power or fueling - getting rid of the stock muffler was what it was all about. 60HP is plenty, its not lean, and sounds better.

Cool, I have E07's at the moment...and they are doing very well (wear wise) so if these tyres are even better...I'd have to get them as well. Where did you buy from?

I think hes the KTM dealer in New Plymouth (only importer)...he advertises on trademe....but gave me a nice kiwi biker discount which was enough to swing it. If the reviews Ive read about this tire are half true it will be the longest lasting tire I've had....heres hoping anyway plus I think it looks abit sexier than the E07

That doesn't sound too bad, when I enquirer at Wellington M/C's recently there was an extra zero on that price.

Only yesterday I was called in to fix some PowerCommander issues on a bike.

We had a real problem once with an Aprilia. You could hear the dyno drum wound up and down, up and down...

Checked the dyno brake and everything. Turned out the knurling on the drum is getting old and we were getting wheelspin

Jesus, the E07 popularity has increased the price, I got mine for $170 postage included. I reckon I should buy a few of those TKC 80's while they are on special if all the prices are going to head this way.
