If you have a workshop manual for the bike it probably has a new, and service limit for a set number of links of the cam chain in it, which should give you a good idea on how worn it is. So measure it, give it a good visual inspection then make a decision is what I would do, if I was working to a budget.

If finance's are good I'd probably replace it just because I'm that far into the engine.

I'd do it while I was in there.

No thought the AT would be too big and still have an issue with my left ankle after the dusty butt. Just got the price from a well known shop in Rangiora and am well impressed with the prices so will replace the cam chain and the fifth gears too along with other stuff like the tab washers and exhaust valves if needed. Was going to do the molesworth and rainbow but have ended up helping somebody move so have no time to do it before it closes but there is always next year.......let me know if you have any more trips planned...
