Written off bike... ummmmm, not actually...

So I crashed my zx9r road bike back in may. Determined uneconimic to repair and thenwritten off.

I was paid out by the insurance company and then brought the bike back and took all the road gear off it and am trying to race it.

Now, I find out yesterday.. that the bike was never deregistered. Sooooooooooooooo.. Its still road legal.

So .. once I get sorted and get the road kit back on it. (Im still gonna race it for the season) but will be doing the 4 points like orginally planned which is mint!

Insurance company stuffed up - they missed out on getting the balance of the licence fee refunded.

Let's hope the stuff up guy hasn't made too many errors like this and they don't see a reason to audit that period

"Determined uneconomic to repair and then written off." means financially written off,not mechanically.
    IE: a non safety issue.

No Gloves !!!!!!!! Given your track record of the last 2 k's do ya think thats wise lol
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

Correct. Except part of the process is that before the Ins pays out, they deregister the vehicle. Even for cosmetic stuff. Which means it still needs to be revinned etc and a new plate issued to put back on the road. Plus there is an entry on the vehicle's history (on the likes of carjam) that it has been written off.
    Lucky boy, Lance.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Nope...have seen literally dozens of bikes sold like Lance's by insurance companies.
Different company, different policy may be?

Well well. Never heard of that. Always believed that if damage was severe enough to write off, the assumption was that vehicle was no longer fit for purpose and the insurer covered their arse by deregistering. Because they've paid out, the vehicle is theirs, anyway. Unless they come to an arrangement, like they did with Lance.

I was wondering how long it'd be before some soft cocks came in this thread and cried about how it is 'against the law'.
