My lines! get outa my lane!

Three times i have headed to whangas and back from hamilton, Twice on the beasty and once in the car. For those who don't know its a nice section of corners with a boring section of straights close to hamilton. A recommended (and keep your wits about you) ride - paeroa, kopu/hikuai road, whangamata, waihi, paeroa.

Each time i have spotted a rider who got a fright when they realised that they were in my lane, now there's normally a few SUV's and BMW's who do this which is to be expected and for that reason i keep quite far left.

One was a bandit (not sure what size) one harley and one duke. The bandit and the harley were fine because i was fairly far left but they still got a fright and panic adjusted, the duke however was quite frightened because that i was in the cage there wasn't a favourable amount of room.

Still no incident but really WTF? in the wrong lane in a blind corner??

    We think alike

See the rant that I just posted on my blog:http://geoffjames.blogspot.com/2010/...ack-of-em.html. Most of the idiots are drivers of the 4 wheeled variety but you do see some stupid riders too, normally riding as a group rather than solo.

Good time to raise it, given the push for safer roads!

Yeah man, its fairly prolific across the vehicles i reckon.

I have always wondered why there is such a push for limiting speed when a decent portion of people haven't got the ability to travel safely inside the speed limit. I don't claim to stay inside the speed limit but i am pretty polite on the road!

I am still at odds of how one could implement a safety regime that had people maintain education levels on the road, doing frequent road code tests and practical driving. The current system says: "right, you've passed now so you don't have to be tested again apart from an eye test every 10 years, now go forth and cut people off on roundabouts".

After learning where all the controls were i felt i was free to pay attention to surface and the other vehicles on the road, on closer inspection i am frequently horrified at the apathy and ignorance out there. I quite frequently get slow drivers racing to be first out of a round about WTF?

On the other side, people do make mistakes on the road. Its easy to loose attention for a split second, hence why i have mully's quote on my signature!

Pull some imaginary thing out of your jacket and pretend to angrily throw it real hard at them - make it look real.

    They won't do that again.

Or we could just get loud exhausts and blip when they come near. Then again, i'd rather not give other vehicles a fright when they are too close to me already :/

I don't think so. Wankers who cross the centreline and force bikes into gravel get what they fucking deserve. They can hold that against me as long as they like - it is a tenth of the crime they just committed. I don't live in fear that some person will hate me for my actions, particularly from those who already have hateful actions - they can get fucked. And as for #555, the fuzz can put me in front of the judge for throwing a handful of air - I'd like to see them try win that one.

Gee - I would have thought from your previous post that if a biker was forced into gravel he would have got what HE deserved. Especially if he gets hurt (See my SIG for clarification).

When you are losing an argument, you resort to the most ridiculous tactics.

Rereads thread - nope cannot see where losing an argument.

As for tactics - same situation - biker hurt thru fault of other - and you come up with the "if someone is stupid enough to fuck themselves up that bad in a bike crash then they deserve everything they get."

Its not that its a "ridiculous tactic" - its ridiculous that you would type that kind of thing in the first instance.

an example of "ridiculous tactic" is your pretending to throw something at someone mid corner - risking causing a crash as driver reacts, or at the very least making bikers look like idiots.

So how would you feel if you did actually cause an accident as the driver tried to avoid the object you "threw" ?

Well, one or two anyway. I see you're a gentleman of taste though - I had an X7 and GB400 too, both wonderful bikes
