Great day out

Took the opportunity of some amazing weather and the day off work to get out on the bikes.

Cruised from Newton up SH16, through Kumeu, Helensville etc to Kaukapakapa for a brief check in/pause/chat. Then up past Gibbs Farm, and through the road to Wellsford/Warkworth, and on to Matakana. Around the hill with a detour to a lookout at Port Arthur (nearly at Taporo), and back via SH16 Twin Coast discovery route.

Bloody awesome day. Loads of twisties, not toooo much traffic; only one absolute dickhead (who held us up for about 20kms) deciding to perform a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre approaching a blind corner. Everyone else driving fairly well, loads of bikes out!

That's a nice loop, I like sh16 when there's no holiday traffic (or rozzas )
You can also miss a bit of traffic through Helensville if you take Peak Road straight to Kaukapakapa

I haven't been north - I usually travel south - so my only request for ride planning was 'no Southern Motorway'

Haha I hate heading south, the first and last hour is on the motorway
