    yes you can ride a 500 2t with the 450's, but no one can ride one anywhere near what they can ride a 450 like, no one has won anything on a 500 2t in NZ MX in about 10 years

    the reason they don;t is because they would be slower on one than on a 450,

    Haha what i'd love to see is Bubba hit the Nationals on a YZ250 and run another 24-0 season. He still rides the 2 stroke from time to time as does Carmichael. Never in competition obviously as the sponsors wouldn't be too happy about it haha

    the thing about 500's is they arent as magical as people seem to give them credit for, they offer not a lot more power than the 250, and are heavier, older, and in their standard frames, borderline vintage

    i personally think Bubba will struggle to beat Vilipoto on a 450, he would have no hope on a 250 2t

    theres a good vid on you tube with everts testing a 90 yz125 he wanted to use in belgium champs to prove old bikes can win, not saying it would here but interesing anyway
