    I need a bike!

    Right guys!

Decision finally made. As a few of you may know I moved here in November from Ireland (i didnt bring my bikes with me) and they are now all sold and gone.

Anyway, i planned on getting a bike when i arrived but because of the fact I was living and working in Auckland City, there was no point.

Now I am moving jobs, living in Parnell and going to be working out in Manakau with a company car so the bike can be used for weekends and OCCASIONAL commuting.

Anyway, im looking for something like this:

    Budget (about 7-8k)
EIther - A 2 up comfy cruiser (large sportster, older harley, suzuki blvd, m50, c50, vulcan, VT etc etc)
or a 2 up comfy tourer - some sort of VFR, V Strom, GS etc etc

Any thoughts guys? Anything out there?? Ready to buy now...

One thing to bear in mind that bikes last a lot longer than in Yurp. We don't put salt on the roads in winter and the climate is a bit more forgiving.

You may have to recalibrate your brain. A lot of 5-10 year old bikes are well looked afer and without a scratch.

2 up models that are popular in your price range include 1200 bandits, blackbirds and late model zzr1100s. All capable of high milages, grunty and good luggae platforms. Trade me has heaps for sale.

TBH whatever preference you have, 8k will get you something decent in that category.

The Blackbird advertised on this site by Ital 916. I used to own it so know just how good it is. Toured the south island on it, have done the Southern Cross round NZ in 5 days endurance ride, Grand Challenge 1000 miles in 24 hours ride and it was brilliant at all of them.
