    My first REAL bike

    Hey,

Just bought my first decent road bike - VTR1000 Firestorm. Had been looking pretty closely at these for a while so finally decided to take the plunge. 2006 model but first registered in 2008. 10,000km red (unfortunatley, wanted black) but overall very happy with the deal. Paid $9k but got them to throw in a $600 jacket as I needed a proper riding one.

Pick her up Monday, will take it easy over winter to get used to it then bring on Spring!!

Not sure if I know how to upload photos so here is trademe link...

Very nice...... always loved the sound of the VTR's + red is faster then black don't you know, anyway .......

Just watch those extra ponies around town, can be a bit of an arse puckering experience riding behind grandma untill you get used to all that torque.

    good stuff !

Looks like it's doing 100mph just sitting there, like it.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Had a GN250 for a while just to get my licence. Nothing against it, was a great bike, I just mean this one is for keeps.

bro, so you have gone from a GN250 to a 1000cc? Im sitting my full soon, and Im curious if its ok to go straight to a big bike.
I was looking at going to a 6-800 cc.
