    05 CR250 for sale

Title says it all. As much as I hate to admit it I'm coming to realise I'd be faster on a 4 stroke

The CR absolutely goes, brilliant to ride and I enjoy it anywhere and everywhere without fail. I've always known deep down that a 4 stroke would get me round quicker but haven't cared until I got my ass handed to me yesterday. Now I'm pissed off

None of that sounds very positive when trying to sell a bike but it does explain my reasoning. And I figure there are enough people on this site that are extremely passionate about the CR's that will defend it's honour. It really is a great bike to ride and heaps of fun!

I rebuilt it 8 hours ago and put a motominder on it at the same time. Both the cylinder and the old piston looked sweet as and it wasn't showing any signs of needing it but for the 200 odd bucks it cost I wanted the piece of mind.

Along with the rebuild it got new coolant obviously plus new tires front and rear and a new front sprocket. Oh and a bar pad that I liked a bit better.

I've retarded the timing ever so slightly to lessen the chances of pinging and to smooth the power slightly. I've also stepped the front sprocket up to a 14t from the standard 13 to get a bit more top end speed. Some conditions I like the change some days i don't. I have now bought another 13t so that I can change it depending on where I ride but I haven't been bothered doing this yet so it's still in the packet. The bike has a FMF Fatty expansion chamber and a FMF Powercore 2 silencer which give it a nice bottom end with wicked pull and higher stalling resistance. Doesn't stop her screaming when you want her to tho!

Nothing needs doing at all, brake pads were done and fluid changed a month or 2 back along with a clutch cable and fork seals and oil were about 3 months ago I think. Chain and rear sprocket are reasonable and I would expect another 15 hours at least from them. Bottom shock mount bearing was about 4 months ago maybe, I lose track. I always replace everything as soon as it shows signs of needing it and the bike is always kept in tip top shape.

Plastics are reasonable altho not amazing, Couple scrapes if you look up close but it's a dirt bike for god sakes... Looks mint with a good clean up and the black wheels set her off nicely. Unfortunately the airbox has been cut for grab holes. I've patched these back up which looks and functions fine but it's worth noting.

It's always run on 98 from BP, fresh on the day of the ride. Mixed with motul oil. Gearbox fluid is changed every two rides or after any particularly wet muddy or clutch pounding ride. Air filter is done every ride.

No point saying it's been ridden by a girl or ridden softly, it hasn't.... I've fanged it and the bike loves it! I've also maintained it bloody well and it has rewarded me with lots of trouble free riding in return and will continue to do so.

I'll have to get pics up at some stage as don't have any non riding ones currently but viewing is obviously better anyway.

Open to offers I'm hoping for $5000 ALL UP but willing to talk about it.

Now the price will obviously vary somewhat depending on what spares you take, I don't mind keeping the appropriate ones for my next bike and putting the rest on trademe but you are welcome to whatever you would like and we can work out a price from there.

    I have,

Brand new Kenda front and rear tires ($250 odd)
Brand new cheapy rear tire (just a $100 one for the just in case)
Brand new O ring chain and sprocket set ($290 odd I think)
Brand new Clutch kit, fibres, plates and springs. In no way needed yet at all! ($300 odd I think)
Brand new 13 tooth front sprocket ($45ish)
Brand new Iridium plug and non iridium one too ($30 and $15 odd)
Brand new tubes, 2 rears and a front I think ($40 each)
Brand new front brake lever ($20)
Cut down spare seat, way lower to the ground
Spare plastics, average condition but missing rear guard
Spare air filter which I alternate between for riding two days in a row
Different bar pad, doesn't quite fit as well and I don't like the cover as much

Viewing no trouble at all. Neither is test riding if you are genuine.

Bump, this is still in my shed due to my laziness! Spare tires, tubes and chain have now been used but the rear is there. Oh and the hours have changed from 8 to 9.4, since the start of december, almost criminal for this bike to have been used so little!

Wanting 4 grand or near offer for a quick sale. Someone will get a really nice well set up bike with no work needed and some decent spares for a pretty damn reasonable price!

    Now on trademe too http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...098980&ed=true
