Does anyone know the full license test route at the AA Westgate.
Does anyone know the full license test route at the AA Westgate.
WhenI did it there about 9 months ago it was up don buck rd towards massey then turn down some side streets on the left for some U turn/intersection hazard spotting. Then back up to and across don buck and down redhills a bit for the 'open rd' (which was a 70 or 80 km area lol), u turn down a quiet culdesac and back down don buck. Peice of piss, relax and just remember all the rules !
It's exactly the same every time. They only have one test route, and do it over and over again.......
Cats land on their feet. Toast lands jamside down.
A cat glued to some jam toast will hover in quantum indecision
Curiosity was framed; ignorance killed the cat
Fix a computer and it'll break tomorrow.
Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.
Thanks for your help. I did the test on Wednesday. Along Don Buck Road. Took a left turn then a right turn then around some side streets in Massey. Then hazard identification then the open high speed zone along red hills road for about 6 kms and return to Westagte. I passed. Had to remember indicate all the time entering roundabouts and half way through them. Great feeling now having a full licence.
Congrats on the full, bit a liberation no more restrictions....yeah right, still not allowed to go over 100k....take care out there and continue with the fun
They should change the route, did mine 1 1/2 years ago on exactly the same route... on a 1000cc 100+hp Moto Guzzi Daytona with a stage 2 race kit fitted and open pipes
The guy didn't mind... 27 years riding with no licence, feels kinda good to be legal now![]()
Blast From The Past Axis of Oil
Hey doing my full next friday, already booked a scorpio from red baron (awesome machine btw)but wondering if they would let me do it on my CBR ....do you remember who was the dude who let you do it on the guzzi??? (and yeah i know what you mean about the riding with no license been on my "L" for past 5 years but local fuzz tends to frown upon the 1000cc
)
Milo,
It was an old fella, no ideas what his name was. I was just lucky because I had arranged to borrow a 2fiddy from Henderson Motorcycles but they couldn't get it to start on the day so I thought stuff it and rocked up on the Daytona

What exactly did the "Hazard Identification" entail?
He pulled me over after going through a busy T intersection and asked me what potential hazards i saw. Since your spidey senses should be on all the time when riding, its an easy one. Vehicles failing to give way, parked cars obscuring driveways, traffic pulling out , traffic cutting corners, pedestrians,dogs...you name it. There was some young scrote with no helmet on a trailie whizzing up the footpath in and out of driveways when I did it so there was an instant bonus hazard lol.
I did my test somewhere else, but when they asked me about hazards I told the testing agent by biggest concern was them following me.
My hazard question was on hazards in a cul de sac. Made me do a u turn and then stop to say what i saw. Parked cars in driveways. Told him looking out for kids, cars from driveways. He then said that test part was complete. As soon as we left the street and did a right hand turn he then stopped me again and asked what hazards there were. I said i looked for oncoming vehicles and there were none, no nearby pedestrians and the road surface was clear. He said great and said he pulled me over just to see i was still observing hazards. Best to be on the alert right through the test.
