    thanks to all who offered help. Phil made it to Dunedin and the bike is currently in the shop getting fixed...we hope!

    I know he really appreciated all the goodwill and contact numbers

    I would have thought a 2004 bike losing its alterntor is a bit on the nose huh?

    Agreed that situations like this bring out the best side of KB. Regarding the trip they got home yesterday and overall had a great time. The people they met and who were so helpful went a long way to salvaging what could have been a poor first tour of the SI.
