Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

Thats scooters only btw, although there are the odd bike riders wearing a shirt and no gloves.
I have seen one rider riding wearing socks only. Ouch.
Not the ones with a piece of string between the left and right ones ? Now that would be quite skillful.
At least the bird with the flip flops on got home ok. Unlike all the dicks in the full leathers in this thread - http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/sh...-Road-or-Rider Makes you wonder who the idiot is.
O people 'Handle the Jandal', At lest the chickies down here wear appropriate footwear, 'Heels'....
I cringe ever time I see one ripping through traffic like they are 6'2 and bullet proof..
I personally find it more amusing when motorcyclists ride with jandals. gear shifts are like bloody butter knives. they would chew off your toes before you even got to the dairy.
A friend who shall remain nameless because he still works in the industry rode in jandals on his Brit bike. Knee down hadn't been invented back then but we used to drag our toes. He forgot about the jandals and did the toe drag thing, the jandal caught the road and pulled his foot under the peg. Nasty. He didn't do that again.
These days he has more gear than anybody I know, and wears it...
We hire scooters when we go to the Cook Islands for the holidays, im suprised more people dont die on them over there...
My dad has just finished restoring his bike, and popped over with my Mum for a visit.
I just about died when they turned up - My Mum in her open face helmet and no gloves, wearing a jumper and my Dad wearing sandals and no gloves.
Luckily I am a major geek and have 3 of everything, so after screeching at them, managed to dress my Mum appropriately (couldn't help my dad tho)
You would think at their age they would know better
saw one better than that. a chick on a scooter texting while riding along Manukau road in rush hour traffic. I wondered why the scoot was all over the road and passed her, she was totally out of it on the twitter.
Yeah, in a lot of cases it seems to. It's a pity people can't be more pro-active about it because a decent percentage of accidents involve serious injury or death, you're not guaranteed a second chance.
I'm amazed there aren't more people maimed on scooters to be honest. I know of 4 or 5 scooter riders who have been shunted by a car with varying degrees of severity. The worst mangled the scooter beyond belief, the most recent was about a month ago and involved a trip to the hospital for X-rays for the rider.
