    Lifting a CR250

    hi

i just bought a 99 CR250, is my bike missing something or is there no frame (besides the swinging arm) when you need to lift the rear end? On my previous bikes you can lift from back of seat/mudguard area, but on here it's all just plastic, nowhere to grab from, i guess it's probably by design but just want to check if I, or is the bike, missing something?

    Cheers

Some people fit grab straps onto them. They go at the rear of the seat. Normally different ones on Trade Me. My CR80 doesn't have many places you can grab, but hubby's KX125 has like a grab handle thing either on the side numberboard or around that area.

i spent years lifting my 1999 CR125 from the rear guard right up as close to the sideboards as possible and never damaged anything.... and i do the same on my current CR and so does everyone else

Making your own grab straps isn't too hard if you want to, I did one on my old DR-Z. Just need some tough webbing and an eyelet kit, quite straightforward

what kind of lifting are we talking??

lifting the bike onto a trailer / around the place

or lifting the bike out of a mud hole upto the top of the seat???

for option 2 id reccommend the grab straps. otherwise i wouldnt bother

make a lifting strap out of an old tiedown ..across the rear of the seat and use the rear seat bolts to secure it
