    Orange future...

Holy fork, this is one hell of a bike! The KTM RC-8

    2005 KTM RC8

    From KTM's press material

For the RC8, we brought our riders to the design table as well as the best technicians and designers. Our aim: The ultimate weapon for ambitious street-fighters.

That means: A radical concentration of its mass around the compact 75° V2. Innovative details are everywhere: The seat is the tank, keeping fuel at the machine's centre of gravity. Dry sump lubrication allows the entire exhaust system to sit precisely where it has the least influence on dynamics. Directly under the engine.

The fairing is designed to produce: The least possible crosswind drag. The result: No crosswind oscillation, spell-binding agility, and aggressive steering ability.
    (Planned start of production 2007)

Gee that rear wheel looks mighty lonely way out the back there...

But would the stealthy fairings make it impervious to the constabulary's electronics?

Sorry dude, this whole new edge design thing does nothing for me.

and I'm a graphic designer by trade.

But on the other hand ... they're right on the mark with mass centralisation. That under motor exhaust (a la Buell) rocks.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

that's not orange, my bike is orange..
kinda sexy, and kinda not. Don't know why.. I've wanted to do my exhaust like that (motogp style now, isn't it?) for a while, but looks like too much work..
Looks very 'stelth' like, but by the specs, I'm doubting it would be!

Bit of a Freudian slip in that gramatical error.

Quite like the bike, good to see a non italian company attempting to create sex on wheels. Dunno if it beats the MV though.

The under engine exaust is quite nice, but the practicalities of it would worry me. Ie go over a speed hump and ding it. Just how fragile it is to potential undercaridge damage. One of the reasons I quite like the underseat exausts is (besides adding symatry to the bike) is that it's out of the way and wont be damaged by minor bins etc.

a point nearly all bikes exhausts travell under the engine on the way to the back/side/seat, I know fitting muffling would increase the depth but it looks as though it has as much clearance as any normal bike these days
