Ive run out of fucks to give
i really like the triumph 1050 sprint, or even a 1250 abs bandit, im poor though.
A quick look around the web - and yeah it still looks like they are making them. They are listed under the 210 range on triumph.co.uk
I have the Street - not the Speed - and I would have to think that any Naked bike is never going to make the best touring bike - but on occasions - sure. There is plenty of room on the Speed - but for the love of God - dont add panniers
I have had my son on the back of one and he was more than comfortable.
and finally - Is a bike that will make you feel good each and every time you get on it - grab one!
I have lost weight since then!
Mr Evil I think the Speed Triple is awesome! But then I am biased!
Not that I have had vast experience on other bikes, but I love mine! I am a nana on it, I find it comfy and lovely and easy to ride. But you know it has "Jekyll and Hyde" type characteristics and when you want to have some seriously naughty fun on a motorcycle the Speed Triple is the way to go. And in looks department...it is farken sexy!!! (check profile pic)
Pillion wise I thought it was comfy.....albeit a little jerky at times, but that was probably due to the hooligan rider!
Managed to get a few day rides under my belt on the Speedie and don't get sore at all, no pins and kneedles, numb bum nothing!
No body move... I dropped my brain
Here's somethin' outta left field for ya bro: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-275793511.htm
Unusual 160hp naked bike with a bit of attitude that will tour in comfort....but it ain't cheap.
GET A SPEED TRIPLE
It is a truly super sexy bike with an attitude to match my own!
You can always change the seat to a gel one - and yes they are super comfy - don't know about for pillion tho!
Speeding Safely!
lol I sat on this one earler today, if it was black I would be more interested eh, but nice bike for sure

They had a 675 & a 1050 at the Suzuki dealers on Barrys Point Road, Takapuna a couple of weeks ago. Give them a tinkle. For some reason the Olson twins kept springing to mind as I pondered their virtues.
I bought a new 1050 in Sept 07. My initial thoughts are here http://hayabusarider.blogspot.com/20...1_archive.html and further comments follow in later posts.
It is a bike I regretted selling but still like what I have now. The S3 is fun and so easy to ride, a fabulous motor etc. However, there are some downsides: The standard seat is horrible and this can be fixed easy as from Macdonalds, mine had a plastic tank and therefore couldn't use my magnetic tank bag, rear shock standard is reported as the reason the seat foam/gel needs upgrading.
I would buy one again but the newer model (2009 I think) with metal tank, longer seat, nicer looks. I would budget to have the rear shock replaced (by an expert). On mine I fitted a Ventura Rack and with an RJs bag had a good bike for touring. Some say the rack doesn't look that good - I didn't care - looked okay to me and was very practical.
When it came to replacing it to get a bike with a fairing I couldn't bring myself to buy a Triumph Sprint - same motor but lacking the thrill you get from the S3. So I bought a Hayabusa. One day I may get another S3.
Here for the ride.
