I have some 'issues' with the FZ1. Its happy place is in the disqualification zone.
I'm told (Stranger) that this can be remedied with a tune and gearing.

The other bikes mentioned grin at 120 out of the box.

Test ride one, return to the thread and then tell us what you think.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

That is a completely different bike to a speed triple - so is a GSX 1400 for that matter.

There is the basis of a blindingly good bike in there, you're right though, they do need some fettling, like Owl mentioned with the Speed triple the suspension on the FZ1 needs sorting really, i'd really love to see the next model get the cross plane motor...

That's my old bike (in fact I was was in there this morning perving at it as I often do when I go into AFC), it's had the issues that the '06 model had with fueling sorted to a large degree. Enjoyable bike to ride and it sounds farkin' awesome IMHO, to me it's the best sounding 4 cylinder bike i've heard next to the new R1 with Akrapovic slip on's.

Oi!! How do you work that out?
Both nakeds, both great in the tight stuff, 1400 has more real low down torque, same top speed, 14 has quicker 0-100kmh time and more comfy for the missus more underseat storage and more..... ok, I'll shut up
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Street Triple too small? It would be about as good as the speed triple two up I reckon, but nimble, narrow, and not as tall in the seat or bulky.

It is noticeably smaller. The Missus struggled to last more than an hour on the Street, but had no issues on the Speed.
