If I cant have big strong guys, lots and lots of little ones will do I suppose.

Cookies, wtf cookies! I dunno the corruption of Kiwi youth by the Americans out there, in this house they are biscuits, and I didn't get any either, she didn't bake any in the end.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

Mate, if we can do some more hardcore maintenance on these evenings sometimes then I have a list as long as my arm of things my beautiful Kat needs ... Look forward to seeing yours!

Mines already in bits. Only things left on it really are the wheels, airbox, carbs, engine and exhaust. I figured that its a good time to take out the engine when there are lots of people around.

Now this is going to be good! I saw lots of stuff last year but no where near as technical as this (says she that doesn't even know how to adjust her chain, despite seeing it done last year!) Ah well, time to learn I suppose!

Thanks to you guys last night for braving the cold, was a good ride despite the cold!

If there are some projects required, I have the following that need doing......

    Fork seals
    Carb balancing
    Painting a fuel tank
    Repairing crash damaged fairings
    Helicoiling a stripped bolt hole
    Replacing a final drive seal
Splitting a crankcase to find the funny noise in 2nd gear

Given a bit of time I'm sure I can think of more...
Riding cheap crappy old bikes badly since 1987

I'll help with the painting of the fuel tank (when I manage to get all my basic stuff done) as for the rest, have no idea!

Snap! I could second almost all of those. I have, I think, a drive shaft bearing to replace. The bearing that the shaft the front sprocket sits on is making noises, I think ...
But that means pulling the engine and cracking the case. How hardcore do/can these evenings get?
First I have to fix the bolts that hold on the front wheel!
    and then ...
    and ...
    also ...
    Plus ...

Just remember guys these aren't a chance to have someone else do your work for you for free. The workshop and tools are available (and the expertise) to help you out and to help you learn a bit more about your bike. Serious jobs like splitting a crankcase are probably a bit too much. Afterall, we'll only hang around for a couple of hours each week before heading to the pub!!

Thats why Im just enlisting help to get my engine out. If you get too many people doing to many things then you end up with parts going missing (nuts and bolts etc).

    Should be a fun night.

Perhaps I got a bit carried away

But being serious for a change (it doesn't happen often), most of that list I can do myself at home, however if someone wanted a how to demo I could bring something along and do it there instead.

It would be good if I could borrow some vacuum gauges and bring the boy and his GSXR in to balance the carbs, and a loan of the tools to helicoil the stripped bolt hole in the head of my XL.

And yeah, splitting a crankcase and then chucking all the bits in a box to take it home is not an option, you needs to start with a nice clean bench and proceed in a orderly fashion or it ends badly.

I have got the gauges if needed.
