Nice write up, slofox. It's a shame you did not have the opportunity to push it above 10.000 rpm. Those bikes are built for high revs. I have had my baby for just over a year now and when I want an injection of adrenalin I give it full throttle at over 10.000... Just the sound is absolutely awesome... Of course these bikes handle just great and smoothly surfaced reasonably open twisties are fantastic. Try an R6 if you ever have the chance...

I'd hardly say I'm biased but the GSXR will not disappoint.
4 days, 3 thousand k's and most of a set of pilot powers convinced me of this all over the north island convinced me of this.

and you don't need to loose your lisence to enjoy it either!

The K9 600 is going for $11500 on the road, here, atm. (the 750 is $13500, buggritt!....)

The particular one I looked at is marked at $13999. But it is with a dealer. A similar bike - same year and km's - is available in Wellington at $10,500.

I'd like the dealer's bike at the private seller's price...

Thats because most of the Gixxer riders are too soft to go a rally.

Go look through the garage/garden shed and chuck some of that stuff you'll use "one day" on trademe. People will buy just about anything! Especially if it's got novelty value. Got an old lawnmower? Push it through the front doors of ACC, eat some carpet, get yourself on the news saying you are helping with their cuts - VOILA... it's worth a couple of thou.

AAugh...I am debating whether to just go get the bike or whether I should "be sensible" and not spend the money that really, I don't have to spare...the bank would probably kill me if they found out I was buying more motorbikes...

    Hate it when that happens...

Bastard bike manufacturers with their tempting bikes!

I say if you are still thinking about it now then you should really think about it.

Does your bike still feel like an "old hack"? (I think that's what you called it )

They tried to warn you... but ooooh nooooo, it's just a harmless little gixxer....

Don't worry, it was lust at first sight when I first hopped on one at a shop too.

My first thought after riding it - is that it made my SV1000 feel like a agricultural tractor in comparison.
