i was in the bike shop today with the missus, and she went orgasmic at the roadster. she has offered to give me 200 a month towards one if i get it. i dont sit my full til mid august, but bloody hell thats set the cat amongst the pidgeons. saw a real nice duc streetfighter there too.
i do like all types of bikes, but kind of have my heart set on a crotch rocket or a classic style like a cafe racer.
i will definately be buying a norton when they get here.

no fucking around aye! That's a big move for someone's first 'full licence' bike, the biggest mutha production motorcycle in the world! I can see how you're tempted, but it might not be the wisest move for someone coming off a 250. You might need the 200/month from the missus to pay the tickets.

yeah i just watched a funny u tube of a guy straight off a 250 to a roadster. he was doing badly in 1st round a carpark.
the biggest i will go would be a 900 thruxton (only 59hp), or a 750gsxr or one of the 600 sportys.

I took a Rocket 3 touring for a hoon late last year. The only bike that's really intimidated me, especially as I had to do a u-turn within the first minute of riding it, lol. Oodles of grunt, and absolutely no buffeting, due to the large front fairing. The only negative was the vibeyness above 120kph, and on deacceleration. I guess with a motor that big, a few vibes are unavoidable.
Otherwise, I'd quite happily ride one on a trip somewhere. Super smooth sweetspot @ 100-120 kph. Pretty cool!

Like a Rolls Royce. If you have to ask....

+/- 200km to the $32 tankful - depending on wrist-work. The roll-on surge is so intoxicating I tend to slow down just to wap the throttle and get back up to speed. Doesn't take long!
