Hey am going down to Nat park area this weekend and planning to do 42 traverse and maybe fishers track. has anyone got any advice on whats good in these places? is there maps or anything of the tracks in traverse 42?

also is there any other tracks/parks that should be considered when in the area?

    cheers in advance!

Here's a link to a map of the 42nd. You have to zoom in to see the detail so you probably won't be able to print it.

The traverse is 35km of open, easy riding & takes 1 hour to ride one way. Mountainbikers start from National Park & ride downhill also expect 4wd & hunters on quads. The main track is marked with roadside markers after each intersection, if you don't see a marker (tall narrow plastic) you've taken the wrong track. The track to 10 bunk hut is a good explore - 1 hour return.

Fishers is a tighter track, going downhill from National Park. It can be really greasy when wet but not this weekend

Do a search in the Adventure bike forum.

Check with DOC as I believe there are extensive tracks and a map of them somewhere in their possesion, I've seen a copy but don't have one.
Remember it's alpine weather conditions there and go prepared.
