    Urgent repair advice (Auckland)

I bought a spanking brand new bike from Christ Church and the f**king transporter dropped it!

pretty much every this has been f**ked.

I need to find out about any bike repairer that will have [Precision AutoWerk] standard, cuz I want it new again, or get it written off.

so gutted it has happened, I dearly wanted "virgin" bike but its been f**ked in the a** now.

if anyone know of a such place please let me know asap,

im situated in North Shore Auckland.

The transport company will have insurance to cover it. If it has just been dropped replaying the damaged parts with 100% factor new ones will bring it back to NEW.

If you have personal insurance on the bike check with your insurer - I know that Vero will replace a new bike that's damaged in X period (12 months I think) with a new one.

Take Photos of all the damage, also get a couple of quotes to fix the bike.
Did you have the bike insured?, if so this will make getting your money out of the Bike transporter easier. Also in a calm manner find out what the bike transporter is prepared to do for you.

The transport co may be limited to paying only $1500 as per the Carriage of Goods Act, unless you paid them for insurance as part of the cost to transport the bike. Man, a new bike .. talk about heart-wrenching

Perhaps if you mention what bike it is... we could tell you a shop? Just a random idea?

yea its been dropped and rubbed against whatever was underneath, so basically it came to Auckland from Ch Ch on its side.

no i dont have an insurance... do i need one? even if it wasnt my fault?

and No it wont be NEW ever again. I will never ride a new bike which i have paid for...

Lancer with 100% factor new EVO 8 parts, DO NOT make that lancer an EVO 8. in fact it makes it all screwed up car.

    same concept here really,,

even from my machinical knowledge i could tell there was AT LEAST $2000 worth of damage to the bike. -and thats the only bits that I could see.

    -rear view mirror snapped off
    -front panel broken
    -right hand side panel broken
-right hand side bottom panel broken
    -fuel tank dent
-right hand side plastic bit behind the seats scratched
    -rear handle bar scratched
-brake lever snapped off from the root
-scratches on the tip of the throttle handle
-engine cover rubbed against whatever was underneath
-stock muffler (not fitted) was among what was underneath there
    -aftermarket muffler dented
    -exhaust pipe bent
-metal brackets /mounts that holds the rear brake machanism has snapped off
-large amount of engine oil leaks
    -not to mention the indicator..

and there might be more when i get it properly quoted..

im sorry I just am a beginner and I dont know the exact terms for the parts. this was ment to be my first ever bike.

and the worst thing is, even if it all gets fixed with NEW parts,, I NEVER wanted a "FIXED" bike in a first place..

If I wanted to get a FIXED bike I never wld have gone thu all the troble finding this one from Ch Ch. could have found one in here in Auckland.

so yes back to the point.

I want a NEW bike. and I mean a NEW bike. not the one thats been screwed around with. Thats not what I have paid for.and NEVER intended to buy in the first place.. If not fix it so even the most experienced mechanic can NOT tell its been fixed.. if they only pays for $1500.. I will take a further action... and before I do that.. I am pretty sure.. I will smack this guy in the face first.

Was the bike moved by a moving crowd or a bike transport company?

Was transport arranged by the shop as part of the sale of goods process? Ie they got all the cash and sorted the shipping themselves?

If so it *may* be covered by the consumer gaurantees act, and/or the bike shop may have arranged insurance.

If not then I feel your pain ......

Usarka has a point .. you didn't receive it in new condition without faults. Look into that side of things - and can I ask ask why you bought it from Chch? Didn't they have any in Auckland?
