    Magnum lock

    hi

i've got a magnum lock which often takes 10 [bloody] minutes of fiddling before i can get the darn thing unlocked. it's a disk lock but I use it with a chain to secure the trailer. one day i drove up woodhill without covering it in a plastic bag, it got a douse of sand/dust/cack. It's had more than it's share of wd40 but it's still often a fiddle, are there any tricks for freeing a sticky lock or is it just time to get another?

    thanks

Whenever I buy a new padlock I lay it in a rag in the palm of my hand and sbsolutely snot it with CRC, working the lock mechanism back and forth til it's completely covered inside. Then I wipe off the excess and put it to use. It'll need a re-oil from time to time but I've had even cheap padlocks work really well this way.

With your one you could try holding it open with the holes/hasp at the bottom and spraying it through with degreaser then re-oiling it after it has drained and dried
