Hmmm, the roof seems to form-fit the bike and what's left of the broken windsheild is still intact - It's hard to see how you could remove the bike and the mangled remains of the car's occupants (and probably the biker as well) then put the bike back in without destroying the rest of the window, cutting the roof off or otherwise leaving signs that the wreck had been tampered with. Somehow I doubt the emergency crew would have carefully and slowly extracted the bike so as to preserve the majesty of the accident - they'd have torn into it with everything they had to attempt to save the lives of those inside.

And yeah bike travelling at 250km/h, hits car, everyone dies, ergo speed is dangerous.

    Questions:

    Who caused the accident?
Ignoring speed at the moment, did the bike race through a stop light and slam into a car that was innocently going about its business or did the car pull out in front of the bike?

Depending on which is the case, you could also draw other morals - shooting red lights is dangerous, pulling out in front of bikes is dangerous, etc.

Would the outcome have been different at legal speed?
Would the rider/people in car have survived at the "safe" speed of 100km/h? The rider probably wouldn't have.

Come to think of it, what was the legal speed?
We're talking Europe, so where did it happen? In the 'burbs with a top speed of maybe 50km/h, or on some autobahn with a top speed in excess of 250km/h? Was the biker actually "speeding" at the time? Or was (s)he going a legal speed for the area?

They show a picture and use it to draw the conclusion they want to draw - the text says nothing more useful than it occurred "just outside stockholm" and the the rider was travelling at an estimated 250km/h when he hit the car. All the rest - car being flipped and landing three metres away is totally irrelevant to the case - sensationalist writing at its best.

If the rider was going in excess of the speed limit, shot through a stop sign/red light or a give way and collected the car, yep fine, "bad monkey" - but what if (s)he was legally travelling at that sort of speed on Sweden's version of the autobahn and the car driver did something dick-headed, causing the crash?

Or what if the biker did something stupid but was on an autobahn and travelling at legal speed nonetheless? Surely the action causing the crash would be relevant and not the speed in such a case.

They don't give sufficient information. All they do is say "this horrendous accident proves speed is dangerous" Woo-hoo! Full prizes for observation there. Of course, I wouldn't want to hit the door of a VW at 100km/h either, but I'll bloody-well ride at 100km/h on any road that legally allows it.

And if I were on the autobahn in Germany on a decent bike, I'd be doing well over 100km/h - along with everyone else.

    Talking

Well I only looked at this thread to see how to ride at '250 kilometres per phone' I've done 250 kph but never 250km/ph? Must be a Vodaphone thing.
Just joking Placidfemme , no offence intended OK. People are getting so sensitive on here you can't fart in the general direction of a pc for fear of upsetting someone on the net.
ps- thanks for the interesting pics anyway

I find your farting highly offensive and culturally insensitive to myself and my PC. I'm deeply upset (and some of that is your fault but lets face it I can't blame you for everything - hang on, yes I can apparently according to section 14 paragraph 2 sub section 12)

I demand an immediate family conference followed by a clensing ritual (involving my rubber chicken and the pet goat) and 4 hours of drumming at the beach followed by a blessing from the family Druid.

After that we will escort you to the closest ATM where you can withdraw enough money to make me feel better (all of it is a good number) and i think, (if the Druid says it's OK after he has rammed the rubber chicken up your bum with the goat) I can forgive you!

    Peace brother

if you really are desperate for some sobering pics, i have some morgue pics of a motorcyclist who crashed into the back of an operating rubbish truck, to say the least, not pretty, he was in about 20 pieces

yea i was gonna say, poor VFR, cause that looks suspiciously like a VFR400, but you'd have to be fuckin ringing the absolute shit out of a VFR to get it to that speed wouldn't you? maybe it's a super VFR. maybe superman was riding it, that's how he got out of there so easily, and they didn't have to cut him out. i dunno, looks like a conspiracy to me

    poor VFR, RIP

On a more serious note.......we tend to fcorget the impact of a bike at speed...I would rather be hit by another car..motorcycle point of impact is very small and the best analogy is that it is like hitting someting with a huge bick or as in the bike a very sharp knife with the same force.

Just sumit I have learnt over the years...not much I agree ... but sumit anyway..

    Burial would've been simple.
