Goddammit it happened again today! This time though it was a pushbike that had been fitted with one of those wee engines they sell down here. Heard this demented bumblebee sound a couple of seconds before it got to me then he whizzes past (I was slowing for a Give Way) mounts the foopath then hurtles around the corner and back onto the road again. Going like the clappers and wobbling alarmingly on his standard push bike tyres.

Got undertaken for the first time today. Heading towards a set of lights where I normally filter to the front when I saw a cop car ahead. As the traffic was still moving I pulled in behind him, sitting to the right of the lane so I could see the lights and traffic ahead. Old boy then came past me on the left, half in the lane, half in a cycle lane. I looked at him as he went past and he didn't flinch. Went round him and pulled back in behind the cop but he didn't notice, obviously eating a donut at the time.

I don't have a problem with being undertaken by a motorbike, a scooter would be taking the piss, but I was amazed when I saw this old bloke slide by.

I do agree with the comments raised about 50cc scooters being dangerous because they cannot keep up with the rest of the traffic,I have done around 1300km's on the scooter in the last 6-7 months, haven't had any accidents thank god,but auckland drivers are very aggressive,I have been given the bird on many occasions, because I held up a cage driver for a few seconds,I of course flipped him the bird right back!! I find their aggresiveness and lack of patience really irritating tbh.

There is also the danger of being clipped by a car passing you, especially if there are parked cars on the road.

and there are the cage drivers who just have a negative attitude towards people on scooters,a week ago there was a huge line of traffic at the lights,so i get to the front of the line, and find a space in front of a white Ute,this guy then loses the plot and goes psycho,I felt like decking him tbh,I'm sure someone like that wouldn't hesitate to run a scooter rider of the road.

    anyways end of rant..
