The only way to conquer temptation is to give in to it.

Shakespeare I think... probably when he was contemplating his next bike?

I likes this. I likes it a lot.

It's a little more than I'd want to pay for sure, but it's a nice bike with all the right extras... if it inspected as well as the advert reads, it should be worth a few weeks on the couch

The pack rack and iridium screen have to go though. The screen is an unusual choice on a bike that doesn't have any garish baubles on it.

    In a word, yummy

It also datalogs to an SD card, and allows loading maps from SD cards, plus calibrating the TPS pickup. Handy if you don't have a laptop.

    Sublime.

I'd buy it just to look at too (and to listen to it running).

Um so you dont have a laptop but you have some way to load a maps on to you SD card to upload it to PCIII??? WTF...also how often do you change a map?? like never especialy if you had one custom tuned....
For the money i would rather fly to US and buy one there for 5k USD and then have it shipped over and i would still have another 8K to play around with!!

when I had a custom tuned zx10r, I had two maps I switched regularly. One for baffle, one for no baffle as it really did make a difference. I guess the lcd does have it uses. Whole bike isn't my cup of tea, but you can appreciate the effort.

ok but baffle or no baffle PCIII has buttons on it to swap between preloaded maps right so you dont need the screen with sd card reader etc. so real whats the point...also why would you ever ride with baffle in????

It's called a computer, something most people don't have any love for dragging into the garage.

There are people that do their own tuning, racing etc, obviously you're not one of them, so it doesn't apply to you. That doesn't actually make it a stupid idea

    Wrong.

Even better than that in that situation is the multi function hub which gives you a map switch on the bar, this is more aimed at racers etc.

why would you not drag computer to the garage?, most laptops are cheap as chips anyway...
Also i like how people on the online forums assume they know someone, btw if you are doing your own racing and tunning, you definately wont be using this LCD thingie attached permanently to the bike and for sure wont be buying this $17000 VTR!!!
(have you ever seen race bike with this attached to it?? seriously!)

Given it'll connect to a wideband commander, which it'll also log, and that people do use them for this, I guess you're wrong

I must admit, I've never seen one on a race bike in the flesh, but then, I only go to the track for open practice days (ok ok, except that last Nationals round at Levels, cracking day it was too). I do however have a friend in the states that uses one on his drag bike. Admittedly he has says they're not common.

OK well it's good to know the general consesnsus is that he's being a bit optimistic on price... aren't we all?

Agree with the pack rack heave ho. Maybe the screen ties in with the cans?

No need to lose sleep over my bank manager's stress levels. Don't buy toys on tick.

    Thanks everyone for your input.

Optimistic on price yes, but also RAWRR. Someone will probably buy it if you don't! Or is that the wrong thing to say at this point..

You realy like to over-analyse shit and tell people that they are wrong, don't you???

Just admit it, LCD screen for PCIII is total overkill and "more money than sense" purchase...to be honest if he took the 300 USD it must have cost him and used the money to have bike dyno tuned and suspension properly adjusted it would have been money not wasted ....and bike would be actualy faster around race track/on the road, but then again no squids would be impressed with those mods at the local starbucks during cafe possing session, now would they? ;o)
(that goes for all the squids impressed with it while buying the bike as well....)
